Moved

Tue May 19, 2009, 7:51 PM
To Colorado.

Living with my mother again. Sucks moving back in with parents but it's a new place and I have my own space. We even have an art/craft room in the works but both of us are broke so it'll take a bit of time. Planning on finding a new job as soon as possible, otherwise I can't pay bills. More suck.
Most suck of all, I'm going to be 600 miles away from my beloved again. It tears my soul to pieces. But it seems to be the best option for the both of us at the moment so just grin and bear it right?
As a note to people I've screwed on trades/requests. I have not forgotten (surprisingly). I even have most of it at least sketched. I just need to find it all. Though it will be much easier now because I found most of my sketches/random crap in the move. I will be finishing them. And I do apologize for being so terrible about it. It's why I will probably never really take commissions. I should probably also not do trades and requests, seems inspiration is so fickle and it's not fair for them.
Anyway, enough about my sucking. Workspace will be made, drawings shall be drawn. Nothing else of note has occurred, even if anyone cared.

Cheers.

*EDIT*
Oh by the way, is anyone possibly thinking about going to the Rocky Mountain Fur Con in Denver?

"Mature Content" and issues of nudity

Wed Jan 7, 2009, 2:05 PM
So apparently I've underestimated how conservative this site is. Or I've just taken for granted the fact that my mature content filter is never on. One of my works was flagged because it needed a "mature content" label. I was unaware that every single piece of artwork posted here that displays any amount of nudity needs a "mature content" label. I checked and it is written very clearly in the policies so I don't really have issue abiding by it now. They must of course attempt to cater to all viewpoints on the matter.

BUT

It truly makes me sad to realize how closed minded and sheltered this society still is. I am disgusted by the fact that we teach our children to hate and be ashamed of their bodies because "it's indecent" or in some mindsets "evil". Such thoughts breed insecurity and discomfort. It only leads to trouble when people become more mature and feel that nudity and sex, the most natural things in the world, are wrong. But we all have sex eventually. And my hope is that we are all naked at some point in our lives. So why is it so wrong?
I completely understand and support limiting a child's access to sexual content. It needs to be monitored until they understand fully the purpose and the responsibilities that go along with sex. But by no means should the knowledge be kept from them. All things must be in moderation. They will find out about it on their own. And if not guided they can very easily become misinformed.
Going back to the point I was aiming for in the beginning, nudity shouldn't be seen as explicitly sexual. There are certain times where nudity aids us in expressing sexuality but there are other aspects that come into play. The nude human body is one of the most fascinating, natural and, in my opinion, beautiful subjects of art. And I have come to realize that all humans are beautiful in this way because our nature and how we've come to look the way we have is who we are as a species.

. . . . . .

Rather random, but this is a subject I feel strongly about. Ignore it if you'd like, I like thinking out loud. Feel free to comment about your thoughts on the matter, I like hearing other opinions.

MIA

Thu Nov 8, 2007, 9:12 PM
I need to apologise to everyone I owe art to. I'm not producing any artwork right now. I know I have a few outstanding trades to finish, some of them are even already drawn out, just not finished. I can't remember most of what I said I'd do for people.

I've not been looking at anyone's deviations either and I'm starting to just delete them. I'm missing a lot of good work I'm sure.

Send me a note if you need something. When I get online I check for those first. I won't be around much though.

7 Deadly Sins

Sun Aug 26, 2007, 11:03 PM
So I can't sleep. And usually when I can't sleep I think of strange things. I thought I'd share what I came up with this time.

Here's the beginning of a list of songs each with the theme of a different deadly sin.

Lust- All the Right Words by Ill Nino
Gluttony- Alcohol by Barenaked Ladies
Greed- Had Enough by Breaking Benjamin
Sloth- The Pirates That Don't Do Anything by Veggie Tales
Wrath- Bodies
Envy
Pride

This will be updated as soon as I find the rest.
